To work as a security guard in Florida, completion of a Class "D" Security Officer Course by a licensed "DI" instructor is required for qualification in private security. The class D course imparts basic principles for effective security work, teaching deterrence, detection, and response skills. Covering essential topics like access control, terrorism awareness, emergency procedures, report writing, interviewing techniques, CPR, and crime prevention, the Security "D" Course provides comprehensive training necessary for private security roles. Upon completion, individuals are well-equipped to contribute to a safe and secure environment. Domestic Security Training Academy (DSTA) is an approved DS School (DS#1700078), providing the necessary training aligned with F.S. 493 and FAC 5N-1.140 for your Florida D License application as a Security Officer.

May I purchase and enroll at anytime?
Yes, all courses are available with immediate enrollment and will start on the designated date and time. Yes, you may enroll online 24/7 for any class/course that has not started yet. Please ensure your availability before enrolling, as it is mandatory for 100% attendance
What are the requirements to enroll in a class?
Each student will need access to the Internet, an email account, and video and audio capable device such as a computer, or tablet.
Please note: We cannot provide technical support on how to use your device in order to access online classes. Make sure you have basic computer & technical knowledge on how to use video and audio through your device.
Will staff be available for assistance during my course?
Yes, DSTA staff will be available for all students during normal business times/days. All calls will be answered promptly and messages will be returned within 24 hours.
Can I get a refund if I am unable to attend a class, or if I miss a day ?
No, if your course has already started and you miss a class, you will have to make it up the following week or agreed upon date, and must be approved by instructor. Please ensure your availability before enrolling, as 100% attendance is mandatory. Refunds are only possible under certain conditions. You must request the refund by calling us at least 5 DAYS before the class/course start date. READ FULLREFUND POLICY before signing up.
What are the requirements to take the "Class D" security course online?
In order to take the "Class D" security course online, you will need to have access to a computer with video and audio capabilities. Please login and join the class at least 15 minutes early to test and ensure your video and audio are working properly.
