Unarmed (Class D) Security Training
The Security D Course is a 42 hour training class required to become a Class D unarmed security officer. Students are taught the basic principles of security including; physical security, access control, terrorism awareness and emergency procedures, and more.
Once certification has been issued, a security officer student can continue with the Class G certification if he or she chooses to become an armed security officer.

Armed (Class G) Security Training
The Florida Class G security license entails 28 hours of comprehensive classroom training. Participants will acquire knowledge on the moral and legal aspects of firearms use, weapons handling, and shooting fundamentals.
Course Highlights:
- Designed for individuals aspiring to work in the security industry as armed officers.
- A highly specialized security officer training course focused on equipping participants with the necessary skills for armed security roles.
- The course spans three (3) days, with the initial two days involving 10 hours of classroom instruction each. The third day is dedicated to 8 hours of range training to fulfill practical requirements.
Prerequisites:
Participants must already possess a "D" license or have completed 40 hours of "D" training to be eligible for this course.
Additional Requirements:
- Participants are required to bring 150 rounds of ammunition.
- Dress code: Please wear jeans with a belt and a t-shirt.

4-hour Recertification for "Class G"
Under Florida Statute 493, armed Class G security officers are required to undergo a yearly training class lasting 4 hours, encompassing both classroom and range sessions to maintain the validity of their Class G license.
Important Notice:
- The Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, under the Division of Licensing, does not issue yearly re-qualification notices.
- Licensed Security Officers are personally accountable for recording and completing their 4-hour yearly training on time.
- Failure to fulfill the 4-hour training requirement will result in the Class G license becoming invalid, even if the expiration date is one or two years away.
- In cases of a suspended license, the licensee must complete the entire 28-hour training again to lift the suspension.
Pricing Details: The price includes classroom instruction, range usage, and ammunition. Please note that students are responsible for covering the range fees.

CONCEALED WEAPONS & FIREARM TRAINING
Concealed weapons is 4 hour training class that will teach people how going to used weapons, especially handguns, which are kept hidden on one’s person, or under one’s control.
Concealed Weapons and Firearm Training Update:
- Starting July 1st, 2023, no specific class is required for qualified civilians to carry concealed weapons or firearms in Florida (Chapter 790.06 update).
- The obligation to carry concealed still exists; there is no constitutional open carry law.
- Opting for a firearms safety class results in the issuance of a Concealed Weapons and Firearms License (CWP).
- CWP provides legal authorization for concealed carry.
Enroll in both Class D and Class Glicense courses and receive a FREE CWP certification class!
CWP (CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMIT) INFORMATION
CWP License Information:
- Required for Florida residents aged 21 or older.
- Concealed carrying of a firearm or weapon is permitted until July 1st, 2023.
- No longer required within Florida after July 1st, 2023.
- Needed for travel outside Florida.
- Nonresidents from reciprocating states must have it for F.S. 790 compliance.
Age Restrictions for Class G & D License Holders:
- Students under 21 with Class G & D licenses can't carry concealed or in plain clothes until their 21st birthday.
Class G Requirements:
- Students must be 18 or older for regulated armed duties.
- Plain view carrying required until 21.
- Limited concealed duties allowed from the age of 21.
CWP Certificate for Class D & G Students:
- Students 18 to 21 with Class D & G training get a CWP certificate.
- Hold until 21, then apply for the CWP license from the Department of Licensing.
Additional Requirement for Class G Statewide Firearm License:
- Requires possession of a Class D Security Officer License.
License Validity:
- CWP licenses: Valid for seven years.
- Class G licenses: Valid for two years. (4 hr. mandatory re-qualification every year)
Class G License Renewal:
- Class G licensees must re-qualify for 4 hours annually, irrespective of the expiration date.
