Domestic Security Training Academy - Refund Policy

AtDomestic Security Training Academy, we are committed to providing top-quality training and a professional learning environment for all aspiring security officers. Please review our refund policy below before enrolling in any of our Class "D" (Unarmed) or Class "G" (Armed) training programs.

Cancellation of Course

Cancellation requires a minimum of five (5) business days before the course start date in order to receive a refund. The reservation deposit, a $25 admin fee, and any credit card fees will be deducted. If a request to cancel is made within five (5) days of the course, then no refund will be granted.

Student Responsibility

It is the student’s responsibility to attend, participate in, and complete all scheduled course hours (e.g., 40 hours for Class D, 28 hours for Class G) and pass the required FDACS-mandated examinations. Mandatory classroom presence is required by statutory law under F.S. 493.6100. Refunds will not be issued due to failure to attend, incomplete participation, or failure to pass the final exam.

Course Rescheduling or Transferring

A student may reschedule or transfer their registration to the following class, within 30 days, if requested three (3) business days before the course date. If a request to reschedule is within three (3) business days, the weekend before, or the morning of the class, then no rescheduling opportunity will be granted.

Retesting Policy

Students who do not pass the course exam (170 questions for Class D / 50 questions for Class G) may be eligible to retake the exam via Proctored Exam for $55 paid directly to the proctor. This is a one-time opportunity to be completed within 30 days of the original course.

Medical Issues

Individuals who become sick before or during an in-person Class D unarmed security course may complete the remainder of the course via ourLive Instructor-Led ONLINE platform. No portion of the in-person course will be refunded nor are there any alternative provisions for the exam.(Note: Firearms/Range training for Class G must be completed in-person).

Disability Accommodations

Students requesting accommodations for documented disabilities must submit proper documentation prior to the start of the course. Accommodations cannot be retroactively applied. Failure to disclose disability needs in advance does not qualify as grounds for a refund.

State Licensure

It is the student’s requirement to self-research and compile one’s own information regarding the acceptance or denial for security licensure by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) Division of Licensing under Florida Statutes Chapter 493 and Florida Administrative Code 5N-1. No refund is available once the course has started.

Course Cancellations by Domestic Security Training Academy

In the rare event that a course is cancelled or rescheduled by Domestic Security Training Academy, students will be offered a transfer to a future class date or a full refund.

All Other Circumstances

Each situation arising will be handled on an individual basis. All will require proper corroborating documentation. Refunds will not be provided; however, the opportunity to reschedule to another course is a possibility.

By enrolling in any of our online or in-person courses, students acknowledge and agree to this refund policy.
